Welcome one and all to Footie Fun’s fantasy football, an interesting start to the season. Lots of goals being scored by the big boys and plenty of clean sheets throwing out six point bonuses.

Tony Fernandez is leading the pack with 193 points, thanks to his Chelsea trio of Cole, Drogba and Malouda it’s been a great start. Lewis Hughes-Evans’ quaint named “Insert Name Here” whose side were in top place but after Jaaskelainen’s sending off and Manchester City’s loss his boys dropped to second. Lewis’ team are very reliant on Chelsea and Manchester City having selected three players from each team. Joel lambrick’s ‘lambo;s all*s’ are sat in third thanks to a very good points haul from Drogba, Malouda and Terry.

Two of our ladies’ sides can be found in the bottom five, Liosa Casserly’s ‘Liosa’s Lads’ and Orla’s ‘Leitrim ROckers’ are currently struggling for form. James Hogan’s AC Banana find themselves bottom of the league – This is down to his selections of Van Persie, Fabregas (bound to be good soon) and Vermaelen but that should change once Van Persie returns from injury and after the International break captain Fabregas will be back playing week in week out having now that Arsene Wenger has rested from his World Cup experience.
